Sydney, 23 July 2020 – Communications Alliance is proud to announce the 2020 finalists in the communications industry’s premier awards for excellence, the ACOMMS, which recognise exemplary achievement across 11 categories of endeavour.With COVID-19 restrictions in place, we have, by necessity, adopted a new format for the presentation of the 2020 ACOMM Awards.
Winners will be announced at a virtual showcase event on Thursday 10 September 2020 culminating in the announcement of the 2020 Communications Ambassador.
The Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, The Hon Paul Fletcher and the Shadow Minister for Communications, Michelle Rowland MP will provide a keynote at this must-see virtual showcase event.
The short-listed nominees are a showcase of talent from across the sector, illustrative of the industry’s innovation to harness the benefits of next-generation networks, connectivity solutions, transformed customer service approaches and available-anywhere, advanced services and applications.
Communications Alliance CEO, John Stanton said: “the 2020 ACOMMs finalists forcefully reflect the prominent areas of innovation and technological advancement driving the sector, including:
- the welcome and accelerating drive for greater diversity and inclusion within the workforces and working environments of players in the sector;
- the race for higher speed, higher throughput data services over the airwaves, in the home and office and under the seas;
- the spectacular renaissance of the Australian space industry; and

“New vendor initiatives in 2020 include innovative world-leading accomplishments in IoT connectivity, 5G development and the video conferencing tools that have become a way of life for millions of Australians.
“The Diversity and Inclusion category nominations showcase companies that have embraced and ingrained throughout their organisations the need to celebrate an inclusive culture that ultimately benefits staff and the organisation alike.
