Non Deployment Class Systems (NDCS)

NDCSs approved for use under C559 Unconditioned Local Loop Service (ULLS) Network Deployment Rules Industry Code

March 2004

Telstra proposed 8 new Non-Deployment Class Systems (NDCS) based on the existing Deployment Class 6a. Seven of them correspond to the addition of one of 7 different passive attenuator pads (one of which is the null or 0dB pad) to the downstream transmitters. These NDCSs are:

  • 04-01 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 0dB at 300kHz
  • 04-02 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 7dB at 300kHz
  • 04-03 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 14dB at 300kHz
  • 04-04 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 21dB at 300kHz
  • 04-05 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 28dB at 300kHz
  • 04-06 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 35dB at 300kHz
  • 04-07 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 35+2dB at 300kHz [this uses a 35dB pad with an additional 2dB flat power reduction in the DSLAM.]

The other, generic, NDCS is:

  • 04-08 Based on Deployment Class 6a operating at the specifed Power Spectral Densities in both directions with an Asymmetric Feed Point beyond 69dB at 300kHz from the Highest Network Reference Point.

June 2004

NEC proposed 6 new Non-Deployment Class Systems (NDCS) based on the existing Deployment Class 6a. These NDCSs are:

  • 04-09 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 7dB at 300kHz
  • 04-10 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 14dB at 300kHz
  • 04-11 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 21dB at 300kHz
  • 04-12 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 28dB at 300kHz
  • 04-13 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 35dB at 300kHz
  • 04-14 Based on Deployment Class 6a with nominally line shaped attenuation of 37dB at 300kHz.

December 2005

Adtran Networks proposed 1 new Non-Deployment Class System (NDCS) based on the existing Deployment Class 9. This NDCS is:

  • 05-01 Based on Deployment Class 9 with linear filtering (Deployment Class 9i for downstream, Deployment Class 9d for upstream).

March 2012

Telstra proposed 7 new Non-Deployment Class Systems (NDCS) based on the existing Deployment Class 6h. They correspond to the addition of one of 7 different passive attenuator pads to the downstream transmitters. These NDCSs are:

  • 12-01 Based on Deployment Class 6h with nominally line shaped attenuation of 12dB at 300kHz
  • 12-02 Based on Deployment Class 6h with nominally line shaped attenuation of 18dB at 300kHz
  • 12-03 Based on Deployment Class 6h with nominally line shaped attenuation of 21dB at 300kHz
  • 12-04 Based on Deployment Class 6h with nominally line shaped attenuation of 24dB at 300kHz
  • 12-05 Based on Deployment Class 6h with nominally line shaped attenuation of 28dB at 300kHz
  • 12-06 Based on Deployment Class 6h with nominally line shaped attenuation of 31dB at 300kHz
  • 12-07 Based on Deployment Class 6h with nominally line shaped attenuation of 34dB at 300kHz

April 2012

Overture Networks proposed 3 new Non-Deployment Class Systems (NDCS) based on a custom extension of ESHDSL (existing Deployment Classes 9i to 9q). These NDCSs are:

  • 12-08 Custom system based on ESHDSL with Higher Rates and Extended Constellations at reference frequency 763kHz
  • 12-09 Custom system based on ESHDSL with Higher Rates and Extended Constellations at reference frequency 1014kHz
  • 12-10 Custom system based on ESHDSL with Higher Rates and Extended Constellations at reference frequency 1275kHz

November 2012

Telstra proposed an addendum to the Non-Deployment Class Systems (NDCS) 12-08, 12-09 and 12-10.
The addendum is intended to help an access provider to perform service qualification against the specified limits and gives the attenuations at each of the reference frequencies of 763, 1014 and 1275 kHz for the NDCS.

February 2006

Consultel BWP on behalf of Agile Communications proposed 9 new Non-Deployment Class Systems (NDCS). The NDCSs were based on the existing Deployment Class 6h in ACIF C559:2005 with the modification of the Customer (upstream) Power (only) in accordance with Annex M of ITU-T Rec. G.992.5 (ADSL2+). These NDCSs were consistent with:

  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-32
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-36
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-40
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-44
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-48
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-52
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-56
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-60
  • ITU-T Rec. G992.5 Annex M upstream transmission mask EU-64

Instead of approving the proposed NDCSs, ACIF undertook a revision in 2006 of C559:2005 that incorporated the proposals as new Deployment Classes and of AS/ACIF S043.2:2005 that incorporated the proposals as new Equipment Classes.

Proposing and Approving a Non-Deployment Class System
