Proposed amendments to the Telecommunications Service Provider (Customer Identity Authentication) Determination 2022Communications Alliance has written to the ACMA to propose updates to the Telecommunications Service Provider (Customer Identity Authentication) Determination 2022 (the Determination) to address a number of issues preventing the Determination from fully meeting its scam reduction objectives. In addition to correcting drafting errors, the proposed amendments would allow a more agile and effective response to emerging concerns, address some concerns about the collection and storage of personal information, and reduce barriers to vulnerable consumers.
