2010 Communications Industry Awards Launched
Nominations called in eight categories by 6 May
Sydney, 22 March 2010 - Nominations have opened for the Australian communications industry’s premier awards, the ACOMMS, with eight categories reflecting the development, innovation and service focus that underpin the sector.
The ACOMM Awards are presented by Communications Alliance and Communications Day and recognise excellence delivered to consumers, business users and the industry by individuals, service providers, content providers, carriers, technology partners, consultants and third party suppliers. Pipe Networks is the 2010 title sponsor of the ACOMMS with AAPT, DGiT, Inomial and vividwireless taking up other sponsorship opportunities.
The ACOMMS will this year be awarded to companies which have excelled in innovation (large and SME categories); professional services; customer service; partnerships for growth; innovation in content delivery and services; and environmental responsibility. The awards will also recognise a Communications Ambassador, an outstanding individual who has promoted the industry’s interests during the preceding year.
“As the telecommunications, media and information technology markets continue to converge, we’ve seen even greater examples of outstanding service and innovation in the past year,” Ms Hurley said.
“We once again anticipate fierce competition for the highly coveted awards and look forward to the opportunity to honour those organisations with the highest standards and industry best practice.”
Decisive Publishing CEO Grahame Lynch said: "We are very pleased to be working alongside Communications Alliance to shine a light on excellence and innovation in the communications sector.”
Nominations for the awards close on 6 May 2010. Full details of the awards and criteria are available at
