First Two Working Committees for TCP Code Revision Commence Work

The first two Working Committees for the TCP Code Revision will commence their work on 23rd and 24th August 2010. Each Working Committee will consist of 3 industry subject matter experts and 1 consumer representative subject matter expert. Working Committees are expected to report back to the Steering Group heading the TCP Code Revision to seek approval on the intended work approach and the Working Committee’s Terms of Reference.

Working Committee 1 will deal with any Code rules related to administration, compliance, enforcement and monitoring. The participants of Working Committee 1 will include:

  • Ana Tabacman (Optus)
  • Alex Trantor (Community Telco Australia)
  • Trevor Hill (Telstra)

Working Committee 2 will focus on TCP issues around contracts as well as prices, terms and conditions. The participants of Working Committee 2 will include:

  • Alexander Osborne (VHA)
  • Emily Booth (Primus)
  • Jennifer Crichton (Telstra)

Consumer representatives for both Working Committees are to be announced shortly. 


Telco Academy Seminar #2 – Networks 101

The second in the series of the Telco Academy seminars, being run by Comms Alliance in conjunction with Baker & McKenzie, is to be held tomorrow, Tuesday 24th August from 2pm to 4pm in Melbourne.

The Networks 101 seminar will provide a basic introduction to the technical aspects of networks – fixed, mobile, wireless and satellite.

Communications Industry’s NBN Pioneers to be Honoured

Communications Alliance will pay tribute to the more than 200 industry professionals who have worked for the past year to create the framework for the National Broadband Network.

Events will be held this week in Sydney and Melbourne, to honour the individuals – drawn from 72 Australian telecommunications companies - for their contribution to the Communications Alliance NBN Project.
