Telco Academy Seminar #2 – Networks 101
The second in the series of the Telco Academy seminars, being run by Comms Alliance in conjunction with Baker & McKenzie, is to be held on Tuesday 24th August from 2pm to 4pm in Melbourne.
The Networks 101 seminar will provide a basic introduction to the technical aspects of networks – fixed, mobile, wireless and satellite.

NBN B2B Interaction Process Requirements Specification released for comment
The Communications Alliance NBN Operational Working Group has released the first draft of its NBN B2B Interaction Process Requirements Specification for public comment. The draft specification identifies the primary B2B interactions and accompanying processes that will enable participating Retail Service Providers to facilitate the delivery of a working service to an End User on the National Broadband Network. It is expected that the contents will provide technical guidance to RSPs with regards to the operational processes and specific IT specifications required to enable interaction with NBN Co when provisioning customer services on the new national broadband access network.

Revised Switchless Multibasket Billing Redirection Guideline published
The revised Switchless Multibasket Billing Redirection Guideline (G567:2010) has been published and is available on the Communications Alliance website.
The Guideline defines inter-CSP operational principles that manage the co-existence of Commercial Churn and Switchless Multi Basket Wholesale Billing. A minor revision was conducted in 2010 to clarify completion reporting and notification requirements with regards to Product Redirections between Service Providers. :

Revised Mobile Number Portability IT Specification Part 3 – Common Network published
The revised Mobile Number Portability IT Specification Part 3 – Common Network (G573.3:2010) has been published and is available on the Communications Alliance website.
The Guideline specifies the requirements of the Private IP Network (PIPN) to provide interconnectivity which facilitates Mobile Number Portability. A minor revision was conducted in 2010 to enhance current guidance on fault management processes and diagnostics in order to better address MNP fault scenarios arising from connectivity issues.

Revised Allocation of Eligible Party Identification Codes Guideline published
The revised Allocation of Eligible Party Identification Codes Guideline (G600:2010) has been published and is available on the Communications Alliance website.
The Guideline document defines the arrangements to allow Eligible Parties to apply for Communications Alliance Eligible Party Identification Codes and the Communications Alliance processes for the allocation and publication of those codes. A minor revision was conducted in 2010 to provide guidance on the process for management of unused or surrendered Eligible Party Identification Codes.
