NBN Drafts released for public comment
The Early Stage Deployment working group released today two drafts for public comment. The draft FTTP Planning - Express Conduit paper provides a guide when planning telecommunications infrastructure in greenfields areas for the installation of new main conduits feeding one or multiple development(s) and/or the interconnection of their conduits with those of another carrier. The draft Fibre Ready Distribution Networks paper outlines the issues associated with distribution networks, and in particular with the physical plant used for the housing of network cables. Comments on the two drafts are due by Friday 21 May.
The End User Premises working group has released a new draft of its End User Premises Handbook for public comment. The Handbook now covers information relevant to fixed, wireless and satellite NBN access technologies and architectures. There are also new sections on distribution technologies, installation practices and on testing and diagnostics. Comments are due by Friday 21 May 2010.
Comments on the Technical working group’s draft NBN Optical Access for public comment are due by this Friday 7 May. The draft defines the generic elements in the passive optical infrastructure, providing an explanation of the vocabulary of the passive optical network, its building blocks, and the technical issues which must be considered and resolved for the NBN.
