NBN Project Update

The NBN Reference Model working group has completed Release 1 of the NBN Reference Model - High Level Architecture Options for the NBN.  This incorporates comments from the review of public comments on the draft paper and from a special meeting of wireless and satellite stakeholders.  The Wholesale Services working group completed Release 1 of the NBN Wholesale Services Definition Framework – Ethernet paper prior to Christmas.  Both documents are now available from http://commsalliance.com.au/Documents/national-broadband-network.

MNP Publications

The revised Mobile Number Portability Code C570:2009 was published on 23 December 2009 following extensive consideration by the MNP Revision Working Committee. The revised Code is to be submitted to the ACMA for making as a registered Code. The associated MNP technical specifications and operational guidelines which support the Code were also published. The MNP Code specifies the procedural arrangements required to Port a Mobile Service Number between Carriage Service Providers, where there is a change in Mobile Carrier network. The 2009 revision introduces a Port Recovery process to better enable recovery of ported mobile numbers involving multiple CSPs, and removes references to CDMA technology to make the Code technology neutral.

The revised MNP Code and associated documents are now available from http://www.commsalliance.com.au/Documents/Interoperator-Arrangements-by-Topic/MNP
