NBN Project Update
The Communications Alliance NBN Project is moving to the next stage of activity with a couple of drafts released. We are engaging with stakeholders across many areas including utilities, wireless and satellite providers, the research sector, regulators such as ACCC and ACMA, the NSW Government NBN Taskforce, other industry associations and end-user organisations.
Both the Early Stage Deployments and End User Premises working groups will meet this week. The End User Premises, End User Migration and Operational working groups have all been making good progress on their areas of activity.
Interested members are invited to register for the Project Teams, which will also provide full access to the NBN Wiki. Non-member organisations who have an interest in the NBN and meet the eligibility requirements for Communications Alliance membership can register as observers directly on the NBN Wiki.

Communications Alliance Board elections
Matt Healy of Macquarie Telecom and Ric Clark of Alcatel-Lucent were re-elected to the Comms Alliance Board, while Matthew Lobb, NBN Co Senior Advisor, was appointed to the Board for the first time. All three Directors will serve a two year term commencing on 1 December 2009. There was fierce competition for the available Board seats this year with a record number of nominations received and a large number of members exercising their right to vote. Congratulations to the successful candidates and thank you to those candidates who nominated for a position on the Board and also the members who voted.
