Handling of Life Threatning and Unwelcome Communications Code

Communications Alliance has published a new version of the Handling of Life Threatening and Unwelcome Communications Code (C525:2009).  The latest revision:

• modifies the definitions of Unwelcome Communications or Life Threatening  Communications to cover all forms of communications technology subject to the Telecommunications Act;

• reflects changing industry processes as well as the development of new and emerging technologies; and

• supports industry efforts to reduce non-genuine calls from a public mobile telecommunications service to the Emergency Call Service.

The Code is now available on the Communications Alliance website and will be submitted to ACMA to replace the Handling of Life Threatening and Unwelcome Calls Code (ACIF C525:2006) on the register of industry codes.
